About this SWP calculator Groww alternative
Independent calculator: this page is not run by, affiliated with or endorsed by Groww. It uses a transparent month-by-month formula so you can check an SWP plan yourself. For scheme-specific rules — minimum SWP amount, available dates, exit loads — read the scheme information document or ask the fund house.
Cross-checking platform calculators
Investment apps such as Groww offer SWP calculators that show a final value for your numbers. Running the same numbers through a second tool is a good habit before making a real decision. If the answers differ slightly, check three assumptions:
- Timing: is the withdrawal taken at the start or the end of each month? This calculator uses the start.
- Monthly rate: annual return ÷ 12 (used here) or the compound monthly equivalent, which is slightly lower.
- Rounding: some tools round the result to the nearest hundred or thousand.
Beyond the final value
A single final value hides the shape of the plan. This calculator adds a year-by-year table, the maximum level SWP for your period and the withdrawal that keeps capital intact. For ₹10 lakh at 8%:
| Monthly SWP | Lasts (20-year plan) | Left after 10 years |
|---|---|---|
| ₹5,000 | Full period | ₹12,98,812 |
| ₹7,500 | Full period | ₹8,38,398 |
| ₹8,500 | 19 yr 0 mo | ₹6,54,232 |
| ₹10,000 | 13 yr 8 mo | ₹3,77,983 |
| ₹12,000 | 10 yr 1 mo | ₹9,652 |
| ₹15,000 | 7 yr 4 mo | Ran out |
Setting up the SWP
