An independent Groww SWP calculator alternative
Independent calculator: this page is not run by, affiliated with or endorsed by Groww. It uses a transparent month-by-month formula so you can check an SWP plan yourself. For scheme-specific rules — minimum SWP amount, available dates, exit loads — read the scheme information document or ask the fund house.
Extra options in one place
- SIP + SWP: build the corpus with a monthly SIP first, then withdraw.
- Yearly step-up: raise the withdrawal each year to match rising costs.
- Inflation: see the final value and last withdrawal in today’s money.
- Max level SWP: the most you can withdraw every month for your period.
A worked example
A ₹1 crore corpus at 8% can support a level SWP of about ₹83,000 a month for 20 years. Add a 5% yearly step-up and you would need to start nearer ₹57,000 to last the same 20 years. Try it: enter ₹1,00,00,000, ₹57,000, 20 years, 8% and a 5% step-up.
| Corpus | 10 years | 20 years | 30 years |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹10,00,000 | ₹12,052 | ₹8,309 | ₹7,289 |
| ₹25,00,000 | ₹30,131 | ₹20,773 | ₹18,223 |
| ₹50,00,000 | ₹60,262 | ₹41,545 | ₹36,445 |
| ₹1,00,00,000 | ₹1,20,524 | ₹83,090 | ₹72,891 |
Tax and the real return
The calculator shows pre-tax figures. Equity-fund gains above ₹1.25 lakh a year held over 12 months are taxed at 12.5%, and debt-fund gains on units bought from April 2023 at your slab rate. Inflation also reduces the real value of withdrawals — add it in the optional box to see by how much.
