What a name love calculator really measures
A name love calculator looks only at letters. It cannot know your history, your sense of humour or how you treat each other — it simply counts how the letters of two names overlap with the words TRUE LOVE. That makes it a perfect party game: quick, repeatable and easy to explain.
The TRUE LOVE counting rule
Write the two names with TRUE LOVE between them, in alphabetical order: hamza true love maryam becomes hamzatruelovemaryam. Count each new letter as you meet it (h, a, m, z, t, r, u, e, l, o, v, y), then fold the row of counts: first plus last, second plus second-to-last, until the number is 100 or less. The name love calculator does all of this instantly and prints the rows under your result.
Names that share letters
Names that repeat the letters T, R, U, E, L, O and V tend to build higher counts, and names with lots of repeated letters (Hannah, Anna, Sasha) change the pattern again. That is why two names that “sound right together” can score low and an unlikely pair can score 100%. It is maths, not magic.
Make it a game
- Test your name with your partner’s, then with each of your friends’ partners — and compare.
- Try your names in a different spelling, or with your middle names.
- Use the FLAMES love calculator on the same names to see whether you are Friends, Lovers or something else.
Whatever the name love calculator says, the best result is the laugh you share over it.
