Four love tests in one love calculator
Most love calculators hide how they work. This one uses four well-known, fixed methods, so the same two names always give the same result:
- By name (LOVES method): the two names are written around the word LOVES, each letter is counted and the numbers are folded down to a percentage. See the Love Calculator Name page for a worked example.
- FLAMES: the playground game that crosses out shared letters and lands on Friends, Love, Affection, Marriage, Enemies or Siblings — explained on the FLAMES Love Calculator.
- Birthdays: zodiac elements and numerology life path numbers, covered on the Love Calculator by Date of Birth.
- By age: a score from your age gap and the “half your age plus seven” rule, explained on the Love Calculator by Age.
What your love percentage means
- 90–100% — a perfect match: the names (or dates) line up almost completely.
- 70–89% — a great match with strong attraction and understanding.
- 50–69% — a good match with real potential.
- 30–49% — some chemistry that will need effort.
- 0–29% — not much spark, on paper at least.
Whatever the love calculator says, it is a game, not a prediction. Plenty of happy couples score 40%, and plenty of 99% pairs never meet. Treat your result as a fun conversation starter.
