What the Birth Date Calculator shows

Give it any date of birth and the calculator works out:

  • Exact age in years, months and days, counted calendar-correctly (including leap years).
  • Days lived — the total number of days since birth.
  • The day of the week of the birth, and the zodiac sign and birthstone.
  • The next birthday and how many days are left until it. People born on February 29 celebrate on February 28 in non-leap years here.
  • An estimated conception date — about 266 days (38 weeks) before birth.

When was I conceived?

If a baby is born on its due date, conception happened about 38 weeks earlier. But most babies are born somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks of pregnancy, so the calculator also gives a range: from 280 days before the birth (a baby born at 42 weeks) to 245 days before it (a baby born at 37 weeks). Premature births shift the date later still. So the result is a best guess — if you know the gestational age at birth, it can be estimated more precisely with the Reverse Due Date Calculator.

For a baby that has not been born yet, use the Due Date Calculator or the Baby Due Date Calculator. To measure the time between any two dates, try the Date to Date Calculator.

How is age calculated for a February 29 birthday?

Age increases on February 28 in non-leap years in this calculator; some people and jurisdictions use March 1 instead.
